After being featured on Patch a year ago, Adam Pervez has accomplished much of what he set out to do and he has photos to prove it.

After being featured on Patch a year ago, Adam Pervez has accomplished much of what he set out to do. To catch you up, Pervez, who is a Strongsville High School graduate, was working a swanky job in Denmark and seemed to have it all. But he wasn't happy. His solution: The Happiness Plunge, a two-year journey he calls the Happy Nomad Tour that will take him to six continents to learn, teach and help. We emailed him a few questions, which he answered from India on the 600th day of his journey. Pervez also said of the last few hundred days: "I have had plenty of crazy situations though. I have been robbed three times. I was put on the wrong bus in Nepal and almost ended up in China instead of India. I’ve eaten everything from cow hearts to …

Adam Pervez is 'One-Click Inspiration'

A Strongsville man -- and his story on Strongsville Patch -- are being featured on Oprah Winfrey's website. Adam Pervez, whose story was told here last month in "SHS Grad is Now a 'Happy Nomad' on a Mission," is being recognized by the queen of daytime talk as an "Instant One-Click Inspiration" for his decision to leave a six-figure job and travel the world to help less fortunate people. Oprah calls him a "Life Lifter." Pervez, 29, decided last year to take The Happiness Plunge, a two-year journey he calls the Happy Nomad Tour that will take him to six continents to learn, teach and help. SHS Grad is Now a 'Happy Nomad' on a Mission

Greatest Person of the Day: Adam Pervez leaves a six-figure job to wander the world -- and leave each place a little better than when he got there.

Editor's Note: Pervez has been chosen as Huffington Post's Greatest Person of the Day for March 13, 2012.  Sure, Adam Pervez had his dream job. He was living in Denmark, making a ton of money working for a wind energy company. He had an MBA, a nice place to live, good friends, a great future. But something was bothering him, and after awhile he figured out what. "It wasn't making me happy," recalls Pervez, 29, a 2000 graduate of Strongsville High School. "I was earning six figures, but I realized I wasn't even spending it on myself." His solution: The Happiness Plunge, a two-year journey he calls the Happy Nomad Tour that will take him to six continents to learn, teach and help.   Is this your first time visiting Strongsville Patch? Former Strongsville Man's 'Crazy Hair Fundraiser' Seeks Money for Wigs

SHS grad is growing his hair to help kids with cancer

A Strongsville High School grad is looking to raise $12,000 while growing his hair 12 inches to make wigs for kids battling cancer. Adam Pervez, who grew up in Strongsville, is now on a "Happy Nomad Tour" spending time in rural villages in developing countries to learn about the people and their way of life -- and find a way to help them before he leaves. He's chronicling the journey, which started in August 2011, on his website. Now he's partnered with Westlake-based Wigs for Kids, which donates hairpieces to children battling cancer, hoping to raise $12,000 -- enough for four to eight wigs -- by the time he grows his hair 12 inches to donate. You can find out more and donate on his "Crazy Hair" page.
