Meet Donovan! This handsome hound mix found his way to Berea ARF and is looking for a forever home. He arrived at the shelter as a stray so we do not know much about his history. But we already can see that Donovan is spirited and friendly to everyone he meets – including all people and dogs. He seems well adjusted and cared for, so we know he will make a great family pet. This boy is a true joy of a dog - energetic, funny, and spunky. His eyes follow you everywhere. Buggy is an extremely shy guy who does enjoy playing. He has seemed a bit intimidated by the whole shelter environment, but does well with other cats. Right now, Buggy is more independent and active rather than a lap cat, although that could change as he settles into a home, or he may always be one who’d rather play than snuggle, and needs his own space. Meet Jazzie -- a young lab/spaniel mix to keep you company on walks, entertain you with a goofy grin and share your couch for a good movie. This beautiful girl loves everyone she meets – human and canine alike – and would love nothing more than to have a home to call her own. Around 7 months old, Jazzie is new to the Berea ARF shelter. Jazzie came to ARF as a stray and hoped that her family would come to get her. That was not to be, however, so now she is ready to find a loving forever home. Sunday, a 3-year-old long-haired cat, has tortoiseshell coloring and is declawed. She loves attention, just not from other cats! She is tired of being in her cage and really wants more people to visit her so she can charm them with her pretty face and sweet personality. Visit her at the Berea Animal Shelter, 390 Barrett Road, Berea. Hours are 2-4 and 6:30-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Meet Smokey -- a charming lab/shepherd mix who has found a second chance at Berea Animal Rescue. Now he’s looking for a forever home. This stunning boy is around 2 years old, but is surprisingly laid-back for a young dog. Things have not been easy for Smokey. He has been tied up outside by a chain his whole life and has never known the comforts a warm home or a soft bed to sleep in. And he is just starting to learn that people are OK and they will love him and keep him safe. And they might even bring him treats!
