Forensic vehicle is first of its kind in Ohio
Local law enforcement has a new tool in investigating online sexual predators -- the Mobile Forensic Lab. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason, who chairs the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, unveiled the new lab. The first of its kind in the state, the lab will eliminate the need to take computers and hard drives to an off-site lab to be analyzed. Now, investigators will be able to determine within minutes of executing a search warrant whether a suspect has downloaded or traded child pornography on a computer or other device. “The mobile forensic lab will bring state of the art technology to the doorsteps of the sexual predators," Mason said in a news release. Kenneth Thorp faces 23 counts
Sentencing was delalyed for a Strongsville man charged with possessing and sharing child pornography. Kenneth Thorp, 32, 8809 Webster Rd., pleaded guilty last month to 23 counts related to child pornography. He was indicted as part of Operation Fall Clean Sweep in November, orchestrated by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Thorp was supposed to go before Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Nancy Margaret Russo today, but the sentencing was continued, according to Maria Russo, spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason. He will be classified as a Tier II sexual offender and will be required to register his address and place of employment with the county sheriff's office where he resides every 180 days for the …

Resident William Kraatz faces 140 counts
A Strongsville man who pleaded guilty to sexual contact with a minor in March has been indicted on 140 counts of child pornography. William Kraatz, 23, of Strongsville, traded child pornography from his Strongsville home between December 2010 and June 2011, according to Maria Russo, spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason. He was indicted as part of Operation Fall Clean Sweep, a 10-month investigation into child pornography by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Two other Strongsville men were among the 26 adults indicted in the latest sweep. They are Andiry Prokhna, 21, and Kenneth Thorp, 31. Kraatz was one of four repeat offenders indicted this week.
