Business will celebrate with Mr. Jingeling, Santa
The Cute Little Cake Shop will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a holiday party for the public. The event is set for Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the store, 15131 Pearl Rd. The party will feature Santa and Mr. Jingeling, as well as a visit/book signing from author Gail Ghetia Bellamy, author of the new book Cleveland Christmas Memories. There will also be face painting, free hot cocoa and candy canes and more. Make a donation to Berea Animal Rescue for a chance to win a dozen cake balls.

Retail is thriving here despite the stagnant economy
When Janet Yurcik decided it was time to expand the home-based bakery business she and her mom ran, she chose a storefront in Strongsville. "It is a continuously growing community that more and more people are considering as a great place for shopping," Yurcik said. She and her mom, Marcia Rehak, haven't had a moment of regret since opening the Cute Little Cake Shop in December. "Business has been better than we ever could have imagined," Yurcik said. "We have been selling out every day since Day 1." It's no secret the economy has taken a toll on small businesses across the country. Bakery will remind you of the old downtown department stores
Remember the days of animated displays in the windows of downtown department stores every December? The Cute Little Cake Shop, 15131 Pearl Rd., is re-creating those days. Bakery offers custom treats
Strongsville's newest bakery opened today. The Cute Little Cake Shop moved into its new space at 15131 Pearl Rd., near Cleats and Plato's Closet in the Strongsville Towne Centre shopping center. A grand opening celebration is set for Saturday, Dec. 10 with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. and a party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. including visits from Santa, face painting, free hot cocoa and candy canes (while supplies last) and a contest to win a dozen cake balls. The Cute Little Cake Shop will open Dec. 10 with a celebration that will include a visit from Santa, free hot cocoa and holiday face painting. The new bakery, which will feature more than 70 flavors of cake balls and cake pops, is opening at 15131 Pearl Rd., in Strongsville Towne Centre, near Cleats and Plato's Closet. Three new stores with sweet fare are looking to open their doors this month. Janet Yurcik said she and her mom, Marcia Rehak, hope to open The Cute Little Cake Shop around Thanksgiving. The bakery will be at 15131 Pearl Rd., in the former Sign-A-Rama store at Strongsville Towne Centre, near Cleats and Plato's Closet. The duo are now operating as a home-based business.
