Crowds flock to annual Arts in Strongsville event

The wildly popular Day at the Chalet, sponsored by Arts in Strongsville, had another successful run Sunday, with beautiful weather and huge crowds. Kids could make any number of crafts, paint pictures and get and own balloon animals -- all free of charge. Live bands entertained their parents and grandparents.

Two Big Events Set for Sunday, Sept. 16 in Strongsville

Breakfast on the Covered Bridge will be followed by Day at the Chalet

Sunday, Sept. 16 will be a day full of family fun in Strongsville, with two major events scheduled -- Breakfast on the Covered Bridge and Day at the Chalet. Lots of families catch both, hopping from the breakfast to the arts fest at the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet. Some details: • The Strongsville City Club's annual Breakfast on the Covered Bridge will run 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Covered Bridge, at the corner of Valley Parkway and Whitney Road in the Cleveland Metroparks. The menu includes ham, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, a variety of danish pastries, coffee, milk and orange juice. Day at the Chalet has Free Family Fun

Popular event is free and open to everyone

Arts in Strongsville will host its annual Day at the Chalet on Sunday, Sept. 16, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet. The event features arts, crafts, music, kids' activities, food and entertainment, including the Cleveland TOPS Swing Band, the Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute, the Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble and more. Big Weekend: Breakfast on Bridge, Day at Chalet

Two fun events for families are set for Sunday

Two major events are scheduled for this weekend: Breakfast on the Bridge  This will be the 28th year for the Strongsville City Club's Breakfast on the Bridge, set for 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The event takes place on the covered bridge in the Cleveland Metroparks at Whitney Road just off Valley Parkway. There is parking at the RTA Park-N-Ride on Pearl Road, with a free shuttle to the event. Cost for adults is $7 in advance or $8 on Sept. 18; $4 in advance or $5 at the door for kids. A Day at the Chalet Offers Free Family Fun

Annual event by Arts in Strongsville set for Sept. 18

Arts in Strongsville will host its annual A Day at the Chalet, a free outdoor family arts festival, on Sunday, Sept. 18, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet. The event, sponsored by Pat Catan’s Craft Centers and a variety of co-sponsors, features arts, crafts, entertainment and activities for kids of all ages.
