Mall Almost Hosts Unintentional Sleepover

Security guards at Westfield SouthPark called police for help about 9:40 p.m. Dec. 27 after discovering two teenagers had been locked in Dillard's when it closed for the night. Dispatchers contacted the store manager, who said he would to to the store or send someone else with a key. It took awhile, but the girl and boy, 13 and 14, were eventually freed. In other police news: • An officer on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8888 Prospect Rd., about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 27. He discovered the driver was dumping bags of garbage near the recycling bin. The Brunswick man was warned he could be arrested for that. • A semi truck parked at Home Depot, 8199 Pearl Rd., lost a number of items …
