Former principal here tapped to replace Krupinski when he becomes superintendent
The Strongsville City Schools have hired Cameron Ryba to be the next assistant superintendent. Ryba, who was formerly the principal at Muraski Elementary and Center Middle School and a assistant principal at Albion Middle School, will take over the spot that will be vacated when John Krupinski becomes superintendent next month. Ryba on Friday resigned his position as principal of Copley High School. Krupinski could not be reached for comment on Tuesday. School Board member Ruth Brickley said the board is not part of the hiring process for an assistant superintendent. School board appoints Krupinski to top spot starting Aug. 1
John Krupinski remembers visiting Strongsville to watch his son play football years ago, sitting in the stands as the powerhouse Mustangs ran roughshod over the Parma team. Now, he stands poised to lead the district he admired all those years ago. "Dreams can come true," Krupinski told school board members last week. The School Board formally appointed Krupinski, who is now the assistant superintendent for human resources, to take over the top spot Aug. 1, when Jeff Lampert retires. Board members voted 5-0 on the measure, to applause from the teachers and residents in the audience. "The district is in good hands," Lampert said. Board looks in-house to replace retiring Lampert
John Krupinski, the Strongsville Schools' assistant superintendent for human resources, will take over as superintendent when Jeff Lampert retires Aug. 1. School Board member Ruth Brickley said board members interviewed Krupinski in closed-door session and subsequently offered him a two-year contract, which he accepted. "He has a vision to move the district forward," Brickley said. The board will formalize the contract at its work session June 7. Krupinski said the appointment is "truly and honor." "I feel very strongly it's an honor and a privilege to serve as superintendent of the Strongsville City Schools," he said.
