'Tis the Season -- For Ding Dong Ditch?
Summer mischief carries over into late fall
A type of summer mischief seems to have carried over into the next season in Strongsville. Ding-dong ditching, where kids ring a doorbell or knock on a window and then flee, has been reported a number of times in recent weeks in neighborhoods all over town. Over the last weekend: • Kids banged on a window on Rabbit Run Drive and then fled about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 8. • At 11:10 p.m. Dec. 8, three kids rang the doorbell of a house on Forestview Drive and took off. • Around 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 9, someone knocked on a door on Falling Leaves and ran. The resident there said when she opened the door, she heard someone scream. In all three cases, the residents asked police to check the neighborhood, and in all three cases, they found no one …
