Public Hearings are Monday on Sheetz, O'Charley's Rezonings

City Council will decide fate of proposed businesses at Pearl and Whitney

City Council will have a public hearing Monday on the rezoning of two parcels at the corner of Whitney and Pearl roads for a Sheetz gas station and an O'Charley's restaurant. The rezonings would clear the way for both businesses to move forward with their plans. Some residents in the neighborhood aren't happy about the idea of a Sheetz moving in. New Store Eyes Whitney-Pearl Corner

National discount tire chain seeks rezoning at former Quality Catering site

Sheetz would of been a good asset for the city of Strongsville. It is a high quality operation and would of provided needed services in that area. I know I would of used it. I hope they are able to locate on the other corner.   more ›

Typo Trouble: O'Charley's Takes a Step Back -- And Across the Street

Transposed numbers put proposed restaurant in 'mystery' location

O'Charley's restaurant has withdrawn its request for a liquor permit -- partly because a typo in the application put the proposed business in the wrong spot. The application sought a liquor permit at 9194 Pearl Rd., which appeared to be a vacant lot next to the former Quality Catering. It was actually looking at 9149 Pearl Rd. -- on the opposite side of the street, in front of Lowe's. "It was a big mystery for awhile," Economic Development Director Brent Painter said. Council President Mike Daymut said the Nashville, TN-based restaurant chain has withdrawn its application for a liquor permit for the time being. "They're not ready to go forward for a number of reasons," Daymut said. The restaurant's interest in the Pearl-Whitney corner …
