Strongsville candy store sells out of these as soon as they're made
If you had to guess, what would you say is the best-selling Easter item at Olympia Sweet Treats & Grill? Chocolate bunny? Marshmallow eggs? Jelly beans? Nope. It's the Honey Popcorn Rabbit -- a giant bunny made of colored popcorn. Employees say they taste like a popcorn ball, but they're dressed up for Easter in shades of yellow, blue, pink and purple. (The honey bunnies are pictured above, but not in the top spot because we didn't want to give the answer away!)

A small dispute over signage could slow down the store opening.
Munchkins' Kloset is reportedly ready to open a location in Strongsville Towne Centre; there's just one relatively small problem holding up the deal -- signage. According to Strongsville's assistant law director Dan Kolick, storeowners approached the city's Board of Building Code and Zoning Appeals on Feb. 13 and requested two storefront signs. The Board denied the request and said city ordinances only allow for one storefront sign per business. Kolick said the ownership has a few different options moving forward, and that the issue will be revisited during the next zoning appeals meeting on Feb. 27. When and if the issue is resolved, the baby thrift store would take up three units, or about 9,000 square feet of space, between Big Lots and…

New sandwich shop is first of its kind in the area
So how does Strongsville like its first Firehouse Subs? Very well, it seems. "It's been great," said franchise owner Matthew Mikola. "People are happy we're here." How happy? "We've had some people come in every single day since we opened and try a different sub each day," Mikola said. The area's first Firehouse Subs opened Nov. 9 at 17250 Royalton Rd., in the former Borders plaza. Mikola said fans who have had the subs in other states "found us right away," and the staff is now introducing Strongsville-area residents to the sandwiches. The restaurant is known for steaming its premium meats and cheeses, piling them on toasted sub rolls and serving them “Fully Involved®” with fresh produce. The authentic firehouse setting is based on the…

Permanent signs installed at main entrances
New signs went up at SouthPark Mall Tuesday -- just in time for the holiday shopping season. For details on the new signs, check the mall's Facebook page. In April, the mall was sold by Westfield to Starwood Capital Group in April, meaning the name would have to be changed. The mall started out as SouthPark Center, then became Westfield Shoppingtown SouthPark. Starwood simply went with SouthPark Mall.
