Fashion Show Set for March 9

Strongsville Historical Society will have annual Style Show and Luncheon at Don's

  The Strongsville Historical Society will host its 21st annual Style Show and Luncheon from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Don's Pomeroy House. This year’s fashions come from Chico's at SouthPark Mall. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for the lunch, which will be followed by a raffle and the style show, called "Fashion Forward Spring." Soup Supper Set for January

Strongsville Historical Society's popular event is at rec center

  The Strongsville Historical Society's annual Soup Supper is set for Jan. 22 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. The event includes a variety of soups with bread, rolls, beverages and desserts. Supper is served at 6 p.m. This event has outgrown the Lathrop House in the Historic Village, where it was previously held. There is plenty of free parking at the rec center. Cost is $10 per person. Christmas in the Village is This Weekend

Kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, see model trains, decorate gingerbread houses

  An old-fashioned Christmas is waiting for you at the Strongsville Historic Village, 13305 Pearl Rd., just north of Royalton Road. Christmas in the Village will run 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9. The eight buildings and the grounds of the village will be decorated in the style that covers the 150 years the village represents. You can tell Santa your wishes, see the model railroad display, make gingerbread houses with Girl Scouts, buy some presents at the Olds General Store, enjoy Mrs. Claus' refreshments, participate in a settlers' celebration with the Bristol Family in the log cabin and more. Christmas Teas Set for Dec. 1 and 2

Strongsville Historical Society will host annual event

  The Strongsville Historical Society will host Christmas Teas from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 in the restored and decorated “painted lady” Victorian Lathrop House in the Historic Village on Pearl Road at Zverina Drive. An assortment of teas will be served along with delicately made sandwiches and desserts. There will be a entertainment and a basket raffle. The village will be open after the teas for guests to enjoy the decorations in the buildings and grounds. Guests will be able to shop for Strongsville memorabilia and Deganhart Glass in the Olds General Store. Cost is $20. Free parking is adjacent. Old-Fashioned Trick or Treat for Youngsters is Oct. 27

Safe daytime event is set at Historic Village

  The Strongsville Historical Society will host "Old-Fashioned Trick or Treat in the Village" from 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Historic Village. The third annual event is for kids preschool age through kindergarten. Admission is one non-perishable food item to be donated to the Strongsville Emergency Food Bank. Children must be accompanied by adults. The Strongsville Historic Village consists of eight historic buildings on two acres at the corner of Pearl Road and Zverina Drive, just north of Royalton Road. The “villagers” will be in costumes appropriate for young children and will hand out treats in a safe, daytime Halloween event. Reservations are a MUST.
