Growing firm will bring 26 jobs to town, fill a vacancy in industrial park
A research company is moving its entire operation into a vacant building in Strongsville, bringing its 26 employees and the potential for new jobs. IMARC Research, now based in Fairview Park, will move into a 23,000-square-foot space at 22560 Lunn Rd. "We're thrilled to have them," Strongsville Economic Development Director Brent Painter said. "The nice part is they're growing fast. I think we'll see more growth soon." The building, formerly occupied by Edgerton Corp, a software firm, has been vacant for more than a year. "Although we've only been in our present location four years, our consistent growth has made this move imperative," Sandra Maddock, IMARC CEO and president, said in a news release. Maddock said the new building will …

Foundation Software buys building on Foltz Parkway
A local software company is moving across the border, bringing its 103 employees from Brunswick to Strongsville. Foundation Software, a company that develops accounting software for construction firms, will move into the former CSC Group building at 17999 Foltz Parkway in April. The company, now at 150 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick, bought the new headquarters for $2.3 million in December. "We've outgrown our four separate buildings in Brunswick," said Mike Ode, company president. The Foltz Parkway building has been vacant for more than a year. The CSC Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2009 and was bought in 2010 by Hyland Software, which relocated the company and its employees. Ode said the building is perfect for Foundation's …

City seeks grant to launch development of 500 acres
The city expects this week to submit an application to the Ohio Department of Development for $3.48 million to extend Foltz Parkway to Boston Road to serve 500 acres of industrial land. Strongsville would match that grant with a $1.5 million contribution toward the $5 million project. This is the third time the city is seeking a grant from the Ohio Job Ready Sites Program for the road. Economic Development Director Brent Painter said although the project doesn't exactly fit the parameters of the grant, "you can't get it if you don't try." And even if the state doesn't award the Job Ready grant to Strongsville, the exposure -- city officials plan to present the project to state and county officials, as well -- will help. "It keeps it on …

Industrial parkway would be expanded to Boston Road
The city is asking the Ohio Department of Development for $3.5 million to extend Foltz Parkway to Boston Road to serve 500 acres of industrial land. Strongsville would match that grant with a $1.5 million contribution toward the $5 million project. This is the third time the city is seeking a grant from the Ohio Job Ready Sites Program for the road. "We're hoping the third time's the charm," Mayor Tom Perciak said. Once the road is in place, development a the 500-acre industrial park can start, potentially bringing hundreds of jobs -- and new income tax revenue -- to town. The city owns 169 acres there, with the rest privately held. The existing Foltz Parkway extends into 43 acres of the undeveloped land and stops. Perciak said the city …

Widening of Pearl Road opens up 500 acres of industrial land
When Mayor Tom Perciak cut the ribbon on Pearl Road last week, he said the project did not just create a wider roadway. It turned a key to future prosperity. "This opens up 500 acres of industrial land for development," Perciak said. "That's why the completion of Pearl Road was so important to us." The easier access gives the city a better shot at developing the industrial park property -- land that could bring dozens of new manufacturing plants to town, along with hundreds of jobs. The land is located off Foltz Industrial Park, just south of the city's bustling manufacturing and warehouse district. Interest is already strong, the mayor said. "As soon as it looked like Pearl Road was wrapping up, the calls started coming in about vacant …
