Proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund in memory of Kayla and Kerri Allen.
Kayla and Kerri Allen were two girls that knew how important friends and fun should be, according to Patty Zivkovic who is organizing two fundraisers next month to benefit the girls' scholarship fund. KAYLA SUMMER SPLASH (For girls): The first fundraising event is on June 8 from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. It's a pool party and there wil be a dessert buffet. Those who go should expect to swim, play games and win prizes. RACE 4 KERRI (For boys): This event is on June 9 from noon-2 p.m. at Volunteer Park. There will be team game challenges and quirky games. There will be prizes, games and food. Parents are welcome to attend/chaperone at no cost. Tickets are $10. Event is set for Dec. 1
Tickets are on sale now for the city's annual Breakfast with Santa, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in the Event Center at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. The family style breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, orange juice, coffee, tea and milk. Each family will receive a souvenir photo with Santa. A limited number of tickets are on sale at the rec center's front desk. Cost is $8 for ages 3 and up; $5 for kids 1-2 and free for infants under 1 year. The event is presented by the Strongsville Recreation Department and the Rotary Club of Strongsville.

Ehrnfelt Recreation Center will close early
The Ehrnfelt Recreation Center will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The facility will also be closed all day on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. On Christmas Eve, which is Saturday, hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The following Saturday, Dec. 31, it will close an hour earlier than usual, operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
