New Pet Store Coming to Strongsville

PetPeople to open in Greens of Strongsville

A Columbus-based pet store is renovating a space in the Greens of Strongsville and hopes to open in June.

PetPeople will open its 17th store in Strongsville, joining five other northeast Ohio locations, including Rocky River and Avon.

"Our focus is on nutrition -- the natural nutrition you won't find at a lot of other stores," said Terri Montigny, marketing manager.

The store will feature some brands the public is familiar with and other brands most people haven't heard of before.

It specializes in healthy diets and in finding a food for pets with allergies or intolerance issues, with specially trained employees available to help.

"We're all kind of nutrition geeks," Montigny said.

Montigny said the store will include a self-serve dog wash. For $12, dog owners get water, towels and shampoo -- and no mess to clean up.

She said there will also be a community room for dog training and other events.

A sign on the door says PetPeople is now hiring. The website says you can apply online or download an application.

The site says the store has been in operation since 1997 and also offers unique pet supplies.

It lists eight locations in Columbus and three in Cincinnati.
