Homeless Man Says He was 'Raised By Wolves;' No Crime Too Small: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A panhandler raised eyebrows May 30 when he stood at Royalton and Howe roads with a sign that said, "Raised by wolves, homeless, need help."

Police spoke with the man, who said he was trying to get to California. An officer warned him about Strongsville's solicitation laws and pointed him in the right direction, a report said.

The man said the sign was to make people smile.

More Graffiti

Vandals targeted the Strongsville Fire Department sign on Albion Road and also the traffic box at Albion and Prospect the night of May 28.

Kids with spray paint have been a problem in that area for a few weeks.

Crimes Big or Small

Police were called to La Siesta Inn May 29 after a man stole a sugar shaker and left in a car.

Officers went to the car owner's home and spoke with the suspect's mother, then to the suspect on the phone. He agreed to return the sugar dispenser by noon.

Police checked back later and found he had returned it.

Valuable Guns

A Strongsville woman turned in seven handguns for disposal, but police found six of them appeared to be antiques and might be valuable.

Police rendered them safe and returned them to the woman, who said she has relatives who might want them.
