How about that big expensive Strongsville sign on I71 - is that really a good use of funds when the…Read More answer to other needs is "we have no funds for that".
Let's not forget that widening of Pearl from Drake to Boston - that road to nowhere. Why are we…Read More spending money on that? No one really wants this southend of Pearl to look like Parma or North Olmsted, but city leaders do not listen to us. They keep pushing ahead with this project, even though they haven't found the millions needed to pay for it - or have they? So, will we be paying millions for a road to be widened where property is zoned residential and no one wants rezoned or will vote to change it? Maybe the next step will be for the city leaders to try and change the rules so they can change the zoning without our voting on it.
I think until we see some serious change in thinking from our city leaders, the vote will be NO on…Read More this. Afterall, look at the reaction the good old boys had to the newbies on council that wanted to "beautify" Pearl. Or, look how they "cared" about the taxpayers wanting that body burner located somewhere else. Seems they just do what they want - and don't want to hear from anyone with differing views.
To: Prospective Home Buyers in Strongsville,
If you are from out of town (rather than trading up or…Read More downsizing within the city due to growing family or retirement), I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our great city.
I am sure you already know the numerous nice things about Strongsville from the statistics so readily available in the public domain as well as from what you've heard from others, including your agents. That's why Strongsville is on top of your list.
What I want to convey to you is the soft side of our community, the general feelings about ourselves, our community, and our city, that can't be so conveniently or easily gleaned from those hard statistics (but of course, those hard statistics are all pointing to how great our city is as well).
This sense of community and the pride and confidence of our residents moving forward is something that one can only feel or grasp after years of living here and interacting with our neighbors and friends every day, multiplied by years. A short trip or a few weekends of open houses here may not necessarily make you grasp all these hidden values (pluses) of our city...
If you are first-time homebuyer with a young family, then my friends and I particularly want to…Read More extend our warmest welcomes to you. For young families, the two top priorites we looked for (and I am sure you are too in your ongoing house search) are:
(1) a community rooted in faith and great traditional values; and,
(2) an aspirational city.
Strongsville delivers these in spades.
If you have been looking at houses with your young family in our great city I am sure you have also been following the teachers' strike story quite closely. The events of the past three months showed that we as a community are moving forward with more confidence and more aspirations than, say, one year ago.
Please join me in Strongsville.
We are proud of Strongsville, and you will be too!
