Borders Going, Going, Almost Gone

Still no official closing date as customers pick shelves clean -- and then buy the shelves

The shelves are looking pretty bare at as the store continues its liquidation sale.

Signs on the window say it's the last 10 days for the Royalton Road store, but employees said a firm closing date has not yet been set.

Workers will be told when the last day is, then will have two days to pack up any remaining merchandise.

Bookshelves and other fixtures are still being sold, as well as books -- many 60 or 70 percent off. Customers continue to for deals on books, CDs and DVDs. 

Borders  it was liquidating all its merchandise and fixtures over the next few weeks.

The company declared bankruptcy in February and closed 200 of its 642 stores nationwide earlier this year, including locations in  and Medina. Strongsville’s Royalton Road location, however, was spared during the first round of closures.
