New Kind of Bakery to Open Here

Cute Little Cake Shop moving into Towne Centre

A mother-daughter pair of bakers is moving their home-based business to a storefront to offer more than 70 flavors of cake balls and cake pops to customers.

Janet Yurcik said she and her mom, Marcia Rehak, hope to open The Cute Little Cake Shop

The bakery will be at 15131 Pearl Rd., in the former Sign-A-Rama store near  and .

Yurcik said the store will be "the first of its kind anywhere in the midwest. 

"To the best of my knowledge, there are no other stores anywhere in the midwest that are dedicated to cake balls and cake pops," she said.

They plan to operate like a cupcake shop, with daily flavors available for walk-in purchase. They will also offer other sweet treats, including custom-decorated strawberries.

Until the store opens, they will continue to fill orders from Marcia's Strongsville home, where they've operated since starting the business in February.

Yurcik said they take special orders for events like weddings, showers and birthday parties.
