New Restaurant in Plaza at SouthPark Revealed

Rosewood Grill will open this summer

The new will be Rosewood Grill.

The new restaurant will be modeled after the existing Rosewood Grill in Hudson, which has an innovative menu featuring more than 20 dinner choices under $20.

“Building on the phenomenal success of our Hudson location, and in today’s economy, it just makes sense," HR president George Schindler said in a news release.

The restaurant is slated to open this summer. It will create more than 60 jobs, the company said.

HR announced in December it would take over a space in Plaza at SouthPark, but had not yet decided the name or theme of the restaurant.

Hospitality Restaurants opened the first Rosewood Grill in 2009. It also operates Cabin Club (Westlake), Salmon Dave’s (Rocky River), Blue Point Grille (downtown’s Warehouse District), Thirsty Parrot (Gateway District) and Delmonico’s Steakhouse (Independence).

The menu at Rosewood Grill features sandwiches, flatbreads, soups and salads, with specialties including rotisserie chicken, Great Lakes walleye, lobster ziti and eight-hour oven-braised short rib.

Beverages include a large wine list and a comprehensive selection of beers.

Like its Hudson location, the focus of the 175-seat dining room and adjoining barroom will be the restaurant’s open kitchen design and exposed-flame stone-hearth oven.

“The energy created in the kitchen transcends the entire space giving it a ‘theater-like’ atmosphere," Schindler said. "It’s a sensory experience, watching the kitchen in action."

Rosewood Grill will occupy 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.

Schindler said in December the company was drawn to the Strongsville location because of the setting and structure.

The building features 18-foot ceilings, a 30-foot tall glass tower and a sweeping outdoor patio area, framed by massive boulder walls and cedar pergolas.

"It is set into the wooded landscape beautifully. It provides an absolutely stunning setting for the type of spirited dining venues we operate," Schindler said.

HR’s Executive Corporate Chef Shawn Cline said Rosewood’s core menu will also closely follow Hudson's.

“Our success has been created by featuring wholesome freshly prepared dishes that highlight the finest seasonal ingredients available. It’s a winning recipe we won’t stray from," Cline said.
