Police Blotter: Burglar Browses, But Doesn't Take

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Pembrooke Oval family discovered someone had spent some time in their garage when they found their car doors and glove compartments open.

A report said the intruder went in through an unlocked door, then rummaged through both unlocked vehicles inside.

Nothing was taken from either the cars or the garage. The incident took place the night of March 3.

Drugs, Sort Of

A plastic sandwich bag of pills was found on Belhaven Place March 7.

Closer examination showed the bag contained two DayQuil gelcaps and about 40 small red pills identified as Ibuprofen. 

Welfare Check

Concerned passersby told police a man who appeared to be disabled was standing in the median on I-71 and throwing rocks about 3:30 p.m. March 7.

Police determined the man lives in a group home on Albion Road.

Officers took him back to the home. The man said he was walking to a friend's house in Bedford.

He was given a card to keep in his wallet in case he gets lost again.

Scream Heard

A Bernice Drive man told police he heard a woman scream about 1:30 p.m. March 7. 

He was unable to pinpoint where the scream came from. Police also spoke with neighbors, but could not locate the screamer.
