Library Closing Information: All branches of Cuyahoga County Public Library will be closed from Sunday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 9 a.m.

Year-Round Story Times!

 Cuyahoga County Public Library offers story time sessions year-round for children Birth to Grade 2. Our current story time sessions are on break for the month of December.  Story times will resume in January after the New Year Holiday. Please call the library for more information.

Celebration Ringers Performance.  Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

Join us as we ring in the holiday season with this special performance by local handbell choir, the Celebration Ringers.  A musical celebration for all to enjoy!

Teen Bake-a-Book Contest. Grades 6 – 12. 

 Choose a book from your school's media center or local public library, then adapt it into a cake (or cupcakes)! Official rules available at the Strongsville branch beginning Dec. 3, 2012. Complete the official entry form at www.polaris.edu/register (click on the Bake-A-Book icon beginning December 3rd, 2012).  Online registration must be received by 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.  Open to all students in grades 6-12 residing in Berea, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Fairview Park, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Strongsville (the school districts affiliated with Polaris Career Center). This program is a collaboration of the Polaris Career Center and the Berea, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Fairview Park, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Strongsville branches of Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Elf Training School.  Ages 4 – 8 with their Families.  Monday, December 3rd from 7-8 p.m. Registration begins Friday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m.

Are you interested in learning to be one of Santa’s helpers?  Come in for an evening at Elf Training School.  Visit various work and activity stations plus meet the BIG GUY once you “graduate!” 

SAT/ACT Follow-up Session.  Grades 6 – 12.  Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.

If you have taken the SAT or ACT practice tests this fall through our Princeton Review sponsored programs at Cuyahoga County Public Library, find out how you can improve your scores at this follow-up strategy program sponsored by the Princeton Review. 

The Big Bank Exhibit Is Here! Ages 3 – 8.  Interactive Fun Runs from Dec. 10 – 22.

The Big Bank exhibit provides children with hands-on learning opportunities focused on financial learning and education. Children can role-play as a bank teller, manager, loan officer, or customer as they explore activities that teach basic math, problem-solving, and literacy skills.

Hours of Operation are Mondays  and Wednesdays : 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1 - 9 p.m.; Fridays: 1 – 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 22:  9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

 Just 4 You Student Friends.  Ages 10 and up.  Monday, Dec. 10 from 7 - 8 p.m.

Join us for a special Holiday Meeting for Just 4 U Student Friends members.

Social Networking and Your Job Search.  Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 2 - 4 p.m.

Discover the benefits of social networking to improve your chance of finding a job that is right for you.  The Career Center Librarian will show you how to use LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook in your job search.

Gingerbread House Creations. Families All Ages. Saturday, Dec. 15 from 2 - 3 p.m.  Registration begins Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. Hear some gingerbread stories and make a gingerbread house to take home for the holidays! Each family will be asked to bring in a candy decoration to share with the group (we can give some suggestions when you register.) Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Strongsville Library.

Wednesday Evening Book Discussion.  Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. 

New members welcome! Our next discussion will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19 The book this month is A Secret Gift by Ted Gup. Pick-up a copy of this book at the circulation desk, and join us for great conversation!
