It's Christmas on Chestnut Drive -- at Least at One House

Family moves their holiday party to July

When a series of problems forced Pat Paciotti to call off her annual holiday party in December, she sent out a note to guests saying she was postponing Christmas till July.

Well, it's July. And at the Paciotti home on Chestnut Drive, it's Christmas.

The front and back yards are a Christmas wonderland, with lights, trees, inflatable Santas, reindeer and dozens of bows.

"I love Christmas," Pat said with a shrug. "Usually, I put up 18 Christmas trees."

On Saturday, Pat will entertain 106 guests, who will gather around decorated tables for a sit-down dinner on china Christmas plates. Each place-setting will have a Christmas cake, baked by Pat.

"I do every bit of the food, too," she said.

Because it's warm, guests will be able to eat outside, but "we've put 106 in the house at Christmas, too," Pat said.

Family members spent the last few days decorating the yard and hauling party supplies around.

Pat said she's always wanted to have a Christmas in July party. "I tell people it's on my bucket list," she said.

Her husband, Frank, is okay with her Christmas frenzy, she said.

"I told him as long as we're doing Christmas now, we might as well have New Year's Eve next week," she said.
