One benefit of being a Friends member is that you gain early entry into the two book sales, held in March and September each year.

The next book sale will be Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All Friends members get in starting at 9:00 a.m.

Members are also invited to the monthly Friends meetings the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.

And Friends members get in free to special author events, like the one set for Aug. 14 featuring author and cartoonist Tom Batiuk, who draws the Funky Winkerbean and Crankshaft comic strips.

The Friends help plan library improvments, arrange special programs, raise money through book sales and volunteer to help at activities.

Pick up an application at the library this month and turn it in with your $8 membership fee. Checks can be made payable to Friends of the Strongsville Library and mailed to 18700 Westwood Drive, Strongsville, 44136.
