Some Good Reads from the Strongsville Library

Local librarians pick a crime drama, a sequel and a period novel

The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt By Caroline Preston, October 2011, 288 pages.
Using a vast array of vintage memorabilia, this beautiful full-color novel, told in the form of a scrapbook, follows Frankie Pratt who, dreaming of becoming a writer in 1920, goes to Vassar, which becomes a stepping stone to an international adventure until a family crisis forces her to come home. This period piece is a unique novel in pictures for all to enjoy!

Sisterhood Everlasting By Ann Brashares, June 2011, 256 pages.
The four girls from the Traveling Pants series are all grown up and about to turn 30. Tibby sends the others plane tickets for a reunion they all breathlessly await and it will change their lives forever, but in ways none of them ever expected. The traveling pants are gone, but the sisterhood lasts forever. Adult fans of the series should enjoy but may find the novel bittersweet.

Tag Man By Archer Mayor, September 2011, 290 pages.
Someone is breaking into the Vermont homes of the rich, bypassing their high-tech security and then making himself at home.  At each break-in, he leaves the remains of a snack and a Post-it note reading “tag” stuck next to the bed where the owners are sleeping. Investigator Joe Gunther and his team are on the trail when “Tag Man” discovers some secrets that may cost him his life. If you enjoy a great police procedural crime novel, than this is the book for you!
