New Restaurant on Howe Road Can Move Forward; Land Sale Clears

Purchase of former daycare site is finalized after sheriff's auction

A local restaurant owner has finalized the purchase of a parcel on Howe Road adjacent to .

Craft Brew Inc., which Feb. 27, had until June 1 to come up with the $400,000 purchase price.

The company made it by the deadline, Economic Development Director Brent Painter said.

"The sale went through," Painter said this week.

Craft Brew principal is Patrick Potopsky of North Royalton, owner of the Blue Moose Tavern in Parma and the Blue Snapper Grill on Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights.

Potopsky could not be reached for comment.

But Painter and Building Commissioner Tony Biondillo have said Potopsky is planning to build a restaurant -- one with an outoor patio -- on the 2.7-acre site.

The site's original project was a daycare center that  when the developer went bankrupt.

The Toledo-based Timberstone Group had planned to build a Kindercare there. The company had also taken on the stalled Renaissance Park retail project at Whitney and Pearl roads.
