New Cupcake Shop Hopes to Open This Month

Pure DeLite offers 'guilt-free' treats

A that features all-natural ingredients and reduced-fat recipes could open as early this month in Ledgewood Plaza.

Pure DeLite, which operates , is looking to open a bakery and milk/coffee bar at 17100 Royalton Rd., in the plaza next to the former Borders.

Owner Rachel Hough said the business is awaiting its final permits from the city this week and wants to start renovations within days.

"We are hopeful that construction can be completed and inspections done by the end of March if everything goes without a hitch," Hough said in an email. "Our fingers are crossed and we are so excited to open our doors!"

The shop uses whole wheat flour, organic pure cane sugar, organic butter (but just a small amount), organic egg whites, and local and organic fruits and vegetables.

"There is a big demand for anything that is good for you," Hough told Strongsville Patch in December, when plans went before the city's Planning Commission. "People are taking more care into what they feed theirselves and their families and if it tastes amazing and is better for you, there is no downside."

Hough said she chose Strongsville for her second store "because it's a booming area that's growing."

Pure DeLite will include seating for up to 28 people.
