Here are the events scheduled for March at the Strongsville Branch Library.  Registration is required for most events.  Call 440-238-5530 to register, or for more information.

Year-Round Story Times. Cuyahoga County Public Library offers story time sessions year-round for children of all ages.  Call the Strongsville Branch for program information and more details.

Young at Heart Book Club.  Meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. A book club for adults who love children’s and teen books.  Next discussion will be on Tuesday, March 1.  Register in person to pick up a copy of the book Notes from the Midnight Driver by Jordan Sonnenblick.

Citizenship.  Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m.  A representative from A Second Chance Immigration Service will identify community resources available for Lawful Permanent Residents applying for citizenship and new U.S. citizens.

Spring Career Workshop Series.  Thursdays, from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. Upcoming workshops taught by the career counselors of the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Career Center.  Attend as many as you would like.  Registration is required. March 3 -- Career Planning; March 10 -- Resume Tips & Trends; March 17 -- Creating Cover Letters; March 24 -- Behavior-Based Interview Skills; March 31 -- Internet Job Search; and April 7 -- Networking for Your Job Search.

Yarn-a-palooza DIY Crafts! Grades 5 to 12.  Saturday, March 5 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Use left-over yarn to create gorgeous crafts. Materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own left-over yarn.  Registration required.

Just 4 U Student Friends.  Ages 10  to 18.  Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. to noon. Join Just 4 U Student Friends and help your library with volunteer projects and other activities.

Pop Into Spring.  Ages 8 and up.  Saturday, March 12 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Registration is requested. What goes pop in the spring?  Flowers, insects and birds, oh my!  This pop-up workshop is a spring favorite. Pop into Spring is created by Medina, Ohio author/illustrator Laurie Lazzaro Knowlton.  Participants will spring into action while learning the basics of paper engineering and creating a pop-up book. 

An Evening with Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis.  Tuesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Honor Women's History Month with a special presentation as local actress Carol Starre-Kmiecik brings to life first lady Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis.   Starre-Kmiecik performs this one-woman show using many of the actual words spoken by Jackie O. herself.  Learn more about one of the most intriguing women in our history.  Registration is requested.

Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series.  Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m.  A library open-house speaker series of programs for seniors and residents of Strongsville. Meets periodically throughout the year at 10 a.m.  March speaker will be Autumn Richmond from the Benjamin Rose Institute. She will be speaking on "Home Safety for Seniors."  Registration is requested.

Ancestor Hunt.  Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. Looking for a few good ancestors? Join Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Genealogy Specialist, Joni Mihelich, to learn the tools of the trade to track your favorite, famous or infamous ancestors. Gain the knowledge to make your research a success in a beginner’s genealogy class.

Wednesday Evening Book Discussion.  Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.  New members welcome. Next discussion will be on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m.  on The Sparrow  by Mary Doria Russell.  Copies of the book will be available for check-out at the circulation desk.

Friends of Strongsville Branch Library Spring Book Sale. The Friends of Strongsville Branch Library will host their annual Spring Book Sale on Saturday, March 19.  The Friends’ Member Preview will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Memberships can be purchased at the door for $8 and are good for one year.  The sale will open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Bag Sale will be on Sunday, March 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Fill a Friends’ provided bag for $2.  The Bag Sale will conclude on Monday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fill a Friends’ provided bag for $1.00.  

Joe Hill Author Event.  Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.  Meet Joe Hill, two-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award and past recipient of the Ray Bradbury Fellowship.  Hill has been hailed as one of the most confident and assured new voices in horror and dark fantasy. Books will be available for purchase and a signing will be held courtesy of the Friends of Strongsville Branch Library and Mac's Backs - Books on Coventry.

Family Yoga.  Saturday, March 26 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Registration is required and begins on Monday, March 7. Join Kim Wasielewski of Yoga by Kim for a fun, family evening of yoga. Move, Stretch and Breath. Come and join in and explore why yoga is one of the fastest-growing fitness systems in America. Bring a beach towel or blanket to lie on and come dressed to move and breathe.

Monday Afternoon Book Discussion.  Meets the fourth Monday of each month at 2:30 p.m.  New members welcome. Next discussion will be on Monday, March 28.  Copies of the book  Little Bee by Chris Cleaver are available at the circulation desk.

Strongsville Saves Coupon Club.  Meets the fourth Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Next meeting is March 28. Join this coupon swap club and share your passion for saving with other like-minded shoppers. Bring your scissors and your stockpile of manufacturer coupons to share.  Share what you don't want and hopefully leave with more coupons that you really need!  This is the place to trade coupons, spend time with other coupon lovers and share stories of great deals!  See how others organize and share tips with other "couponers."
