Strongsville Reverend Retiring after 41 Years of Pastoral Leadership

The Strongsville United Methodist Church is hosting a retirement reception for Rev. Ronald Mowry.

The community is invited to shake the hand of a man who lent his hands to the religious community as a pastor for the last 41 years.

Rev. Ronald Mowry has led four churches — the most recent being the Strongsville United Methodist Church — baptized hundreds and worked on dozens of mission projects.

The community is invited to Mowry's retirement reception on June 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the church located at 13500 Royalton Rd.

The event will be inside the church's worship center and will include refreshments, a short commemoration of Mowry's work and the opportunity to catch up with him, his wife Sue, and their daughters Jen and Betsy, according to a prepared statement released by the church.

During his career, Mowry served as pastor of four Ohio churches:

  • Family of Faith United Methodist in Akron
  • Jefferson United Methodist
  • First United Methodist Church of Ravenna
  • Strongsville United Methodist
