Community Corner

Color Fest - Strongsville United Methodist Church

We would like to extend an invitation to the community, including teachers and administration to attend our Color Fest Picnic at Strongsville United Methodist Church – 13500 Royalton Rd. on August 18th at 12pm.  Our church is presently planning a party that would involve students of all ages in the community to look forward with optimism to this upcoming school year. We think inviting teachers and administration to the celebration would make for a great way to kick off the school year.

Along with great food, games, and other picnic favorites, the Color Fest will include a special ceremony that involves colored powder being thrown simultaneously by the students, parents, and with your help possibly teachers and administration. The symbolic significance of the color – according to the Indian Holi festival which we borrowed this event from – is to mark a new beginning. We want our students, parents, teachers, and administration to all approach the new beginning of the school year with optimism.

We held this event last year with great success. This year, we would love to have teachers and administration involved.
