A Weekend for Parties and Mischief: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

Kids caused some problems around town over the weekend, according to reports.

On Friday evening, employees at Empire Wok on Prospect Road said some boys about 11 years old kept going in and out, opening and closing the door to be annoying.

The kids often hang out at the plaza, the employees said, coming into the restaurant to ask for fortune cookies.

They were gone when police arrived.

About the same time, a group of about 15 young teens was reported running on Bent Tree Drive, ding-dong ditching.

Kids were also banging on garage doors and ringing doorbells about 2 a.m. Sunday on Barton Drive, a resident reported.

And later on Sunday, kids were hiding in the bushes at a house at Ash and Ellsworth, throwing rocks at cars going by.

Keep it Down, Folks

Several loud parties were reported over the weekend, three of them between 2:30 and 3 a.m. Sunday.

Neighbors complained about people yelling at a Colebright Drive house, but most of the people ran into the house or through the neighborhood when they arrived.

The party broke up, a report said.

A few minutes later, a Mulberry Circle resident reported people yelling in the condo area.

Police found people on a patio. They agreed to take the party inside.

And after a complaint on Pearl Road, officers found people in an apartment playing a guitar and keyboard very loudly at 3 a.m. They were told to shut it down for the night.

Quick Scam

Quick-change artists took advantage of an employee at Dairy Queen at SouthPark Mall Friday.

When the man and woman left, the store was out $60.
