Dude Really, Really Needed to Stay Home: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A very confused -- an apparently intoxicated man -- got two chances to just stay home July 5, but the lure of apartment parking lots was apparently too much for him.

Police were called to Whitney Road about 5:15 p.m. by an employee at Chestnut Lake Apartments, who said she saw him rifling through her car. He then came into the office wearing only one shoe and asked about a court date.

He seemed very confused, she said.

Police made sure the man made it to his apartment in the complex and warned him to stay inside for the rest of the night.

But about 8:20 p.m., a resident at Cherry Tree reported an intoxicated man knocking on his door repeatedly, asking for a woman who does not live there.

Police found the same guy in the Cherry Tree parking lot, carrying a screwdriver and a wreath. He denied trying to enter vehicles at the complex.

He again went home with a warning.

When police were called back to Chestnut Lake at 9:30 p.m. about a man trying to get into cars, they'd had enough.

They arrested the man for disorderly conduct and held him at the police station until he sobered up.

Flea Problems?

Petco reported the theft of $1,100 worth of flea products July 6.

It's the second time that's happened at the store, a report said. The Petco in Fairview Park was also hit.

Fireworks Damage

A Bears Paw Lane resident said someone blew up plastic bottle bombs on his lawn July 4, damaging the grass.

Police found a small amount of damage caused by bottle rockets. Officers said they would contact a possible suspect.
