Police Blotter: 1 Burglary; 2 Car Windows Smashed; 2 Reports of Gunfire

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

 

An Albion Road resident returned home about 1:45 p.m. Dec. 4 to find the front door open and the house ransacked.

A computer and other items were taken.

Picky Thief

Someone smashed the window of a car parked at Ledgewood Plaza, rifled through a bag, but took nothing, a report said.

The incident was reported at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 4.

Another Window Shattered

A thief broke a car window outside BW3 Dec. 4 to get at a purse valued at $50.

The only thing in the purse was a set of keys. 

The theft was reported about 7:30 p.m.

Attempted Burglary

Someone tried to break into a garage on Brigadoon Way the night of Dec. 3.

No entry was gained.

Suspicious Man

A Spylgass Hill resident noticed a man sitting in a new blue car about 9 a.m. Dec. 3, and asked what he was doing.

The man said he was picking up his son.

But the caller noticed there was a six-pack of beer in the car. And he drove off a short time later without picking up a child.

Police checked the area, but couldn't locate the car.

Gunfire?

An Indianhead Lane resident heard men yelling and what sounded like gunshots abour 9:15 p.m. Dec. 3.

The area was quiet when police arrived, and neighbors said they didn't hear anything.

About 1:20 a.m. Dec. 4, a resident on Sprague Road in Berea heard a woman sceam, then heard a gunshot or fireworks, a report said.

Berea police checked and found nothing; Strongsville officers checked this side of the street and said everything was quiet.

Nasty Find

A Howe Road resident found a black velvet bag containing needles in her driveway Dec. 6, a report said.

Police took the paraphernalia to destroy.
