Police Blotter: Caller Has Strange Request for Woman

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A man keeps calling an Idlewood Trail woman to tell her she should take $400 and meet him at .

After the third call, the woman notified police. Two more calls came in after that.

A report said the unknown man keeps telling the woman to go to Walmart and put $400 on a green money card.

Officers advised her to tell the man she has reported him to police and otherwise ignore the calls.

Leaf Vandals

A North Inlet Drive man raked up his leaves and put them in bags, only to have kids tear open the bags and spread them all over his driveway the night of Oct. 21.

About six bags were opened.

No Polka Party

A passerby called police about an elderly man slumped in a van on Prospect Road listening to accordion music about 8 p.m. Oct. 23.

The concerned motorist said he called out to the man, but he didn't respond.

Police found the man was sleeping after an exhausting day. An officer followed him home to make sure he got there safely.

Vandals on Timberline

Someone shot a pellet gun through a window on Timberline Drive the night of Oct. 20.

The pellet put a hole in the window.

Accident on Pearl

A 21-year-old man was injured Oct. 23 after the SUV he was driving hit a pole in front of and flipped.

The driver, 21, of North Royalton, was taken to the hospital for a head injury, a report said.

Pearl Road southbound was closed at Sprague Road about 12:45 p.m. while the accident was cleared and a CEI pole was removed from the road.
