Police Blotter: Follow that Marijuana Plant; Man Wearing Gun in Holster Visits Store

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A shopper at called police about 7:25 p.m. May 1 after seeing a man carrying a gun in a shoulder holster at the store.

The man left before police got there. But officers spoke with an employee who said the store allows customers to bring guns into the store as long as they have a concealed-carry permit.

The man showed her the permit, returned some items and left, a report said.

Marijuana in Car -- in Plant Form

A driver on Royalton Road called plice about 12:30 p.m. May 2 to report seeing a Dodge pickup with a marijuana plant in the passenger seat.

The vehicle continued east into North Royalton. Police couldn't locate it.

A Hand from Police

A Bexley Drive woman reported a man walking a dog and acting strangely May 1.

Police located the elderly man on Ellis Way, who said he was lost and was asking people for directions. 

Officers took the man home. His wife said she had gotten worried when he hadn't returned home and was very appreciative of the help, a report said.

Door-to-Door Steak

A Cook Avenue man called police April 30 after two men pulled in his driveway and tried to sell him steaks from their truck.

Police found the men near . They said they had been making a delivery in the area and were trying to make a few sales to people they saw outside.

They were warned about soliciting without a permit. In addition, the driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, and the passenger was told to take care of an outstanding warrant from Lakewood.

Woman Walking

Witnesses reported an older woman walking in the middle of Webster Road, oblivious to traffic, about 4 p.m. May 2.

The woman wasn't around when police arrived.
