Police Blotter: Man Wants Credit Card Company Charged for Calling Him; 'Something that Looks Like a Body' Reported

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

 

A Prospect Road man called police Oct. 12 about harassing phone calls from a phone solicitor.

The man complained a credit card company has called five times trying to reduce his interest rate.

Police told him it is not a criminal matter, and explained the level the calls would have to reach to become a crime.

Body on I-71?

A caller driving south on I-71 about 7 a.m. Oct. 12 reported something lying on the right berm, close to the guardrail, that looked like a body.

Police checked and found there was a body -- of a deer.

Here's a First -- a Segway Traffic Stop

Officers stopped a man riding a Segway at Pearl and Shurmer roads about 11 p.m. Oct. 12.

The man wasn't cited for breaking any traffic laws, but was warned about riding in circles in the road.

Suspicious Thump

A Paddock Circle resident told police her dog started parking about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 12, then they heard a thump on the window.

Police found no footprints in the yard and no one lurking nearby.

That's Why You Shouldn't Litter

A concerned resident reported a car driving up and down Boston Road, stopping and starting, shortly before midnight Oct. 14.

Police spoke with the driver, who said she had flicked a cigarette out the window and a ring she'd bought in Mexico flew off her finger and into the road.

She and her passenger were looking for it.

Theft from Auto

Two unlocked cars in a Bishop Lane driveway were rummaged through the night of Oct. 12.

It was not known if anything was stolen.

Damage to Car

A man who parked his car on Burlwood Drive about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and went to dinner returned at 8 p.m. to find the rear window smashed.

No other vehicles in the area appeared to have been targeted.
