Police Blotter: Marijuana in the Restroom; Some Gifts Aren't Welcome

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A customer reported finding marijuana scattered all over the men's restroom at McDonald's Oct. 30.

When police arrived, the restaurant staff had already cleaned it up.

Gift or Scam?

A Timberline Drive family keeps getting items delivered they did not order, a report said.

On Oct. 31, the resident said they received two watches from different vendors, and UPS tried to deliver more boxes, but they refused them to accept.

The resident contacted one of the companies and was told he had not been charged for the watch because it was a gift.

Police advised the family to return the items and make sure no unauthorized charges show up on their credit cards.

Theft from Car

A GPS was taken from an unlocked car on Parkwood Lane the night of Oct. 27.

Storm Woes

Amid the dozens of reports of downed power lines and wind-related false alarms Oct. 29 was an unusual incident on Pearl Road at Shurmer.

A motorist reported a shopping cart flew through the air and landed on the south side of the road.

Police returned the cart to Big Lots.

He's Telling

A 911 hang-up call was traced to a 9-year-old boy who was upset about being punished.

Dispatchers spoke with the dad, who said his son threatened to call the police about his punishment, but wasn't aware he'd actually done it.

No Ads

A Pebble Brook Lane man asked police to get a landscaping company to stop putting fliers in his mailbox.

The man said he told the company not to leave ads in his mailbox, but they did it again.

He asked an officer to call the firm and tell them to stop.

An Ellsworth Drive resident found someone had written a number, apparently in oil, on the brick entry facade on her house Oct. 29.
