Police Blotter: Watch Your Pumpkins -- Halloween Mischief Has Started

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Residents on Gate Post Road and Fox Grove reported that vandals trashed their Halloween displays the night of Oct. 15.

In both cases, the culprits cut the electrical cords to strings of lights and lighted pumpkin displays.

On Fox Grove, real pumpkins were also smashed and decorations were scattered through the yard.

Signs of Trouble

Motorists complained about "road closed" signs on Albion Road where freshly poured concrete had the street down to one lane Oct. 15.

Police found the signs were fine -- but motorists were disregarding them, driving through the new pavement.

Officers subsequently cited several motorists for driving on a closed road.

Kids Drugged, Caller Alleges

A woman called police Oct. 14 to say her brother shot up his kids, ages 8 and 10, with heroin.

Officers checked and found the kids fine. The brother said his sister routinely makes things up.

Guns at the Mall?

A woman told police she saw two men in the parking lot at with a gun about 10 p.m. Oct. 14.

The men were looking at a handgn, then got into a car and left.
