Police Blotter: What Happens to Kids Who Blast Airhorns; Doctors Without Cell Phones

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Passersby reported four boys sitting in front of SouthPark mall, blowing airhorns at vehicles as they went by about 8 p.m. June 16.

Mall security officers told police they had already dealt with the boys for incidents earlier that day and had asked them to leave.

After this incident, they were banned from the mall for six months.

Hitchhiking Physicians

Motorists reported two men trying to flag down cars on I-71 about 5:15 p.m. June 15.

Police picked up the pair, who said they were doctors from India. They did not have phones and needed a ride.

The officer took them to a Shell station on Pearl Road near I-71 and gave them the number of a cab company.

It's Ransacked -- Oh, Wait

A woman returned from out of town, found her bedroom was a mess and called police, saying someone had been in the house while she was gone.

Officers found a less dramatic explanation. While a lamp was knocked over, the woman's roommate had been home the whole weekend and said no one had been there.

Okay to Look Up

An officer on patrol found an unoccupied car at the end of Foltz Industrial Park about 11:15 p.m. June 16.

He then located the occupants, an adult man and woman who were stargazing. He told them they could stay.

Property Damage

Someone tried to burn down a mailbox on Ellsworth Drive the night of June 14.

Police said the grass around the mailbox was burned.

Rock Damage

Someone threw a rock through the window of , 10929 Prospect Rd., about 2 a.m. June 15.

Police said glass was still falling out of the window, so it appeared the damage was very fresh.

The manager, who was called to the scene, said it looked like no one got inside the business.
