Police Nab Brothers for Car Break-Ins

Officers catch alleged thieves with stolen goods

A tip from an alert witness in the early morning hours helped police nab two brothers suspected of breaking into cars in the Hunting Meadows area June 25.

A resident on Raccoon Trail reported seeing two males being dropped off from a small silver car about 4:20 a.m. The caller said both had flashlights, one had a backpack, and they were heading toward houses on Stag Thicket Lane.

Police spotted the pair, ages 17 and 22, on Stag Thicket, and found they had several chargers for electronic devices, a GPS, keys and deposit slips to a checking account in their possession, according to Detective Lt. John Janowski.

Officers traced their route, finding a car with a door ajar on Fox Hollow and another vehicle that had been entered on Carol Drive. Property was returned to those victims.

The brothers, who live in Strongville, will face charges of theft from vehicles, receiving stolen property and violating curfew. Janowski said one charge will be a felony because of the stolen checking account documents.
