Not Exactly Camping

A Mill Hollow Lane resident alerted police to a car parked on the street at 3 a.m. Aug. 2, saying sometimes kids camp in the nearby woods.

In this case, it was a woman who is living in her car as she tries to make it back to Arizona.

Police told her she can't park in the street, so she moved to the Holiday Inn parking lot.

Hit-Skip

A man riding a bike on Fair Road about 12:20 a.m. Aug. 2 was knocked off his bicycle by a passing vehicle.

The driver of the dark-colored SUV or pickup did not stop.

The cyclist got road rash, but was not seriously injured.

Attempted Burglary

Someone tried to break into a house on White Bark Drive, a report said.

On Aug. 4, screens were reported ripped out and two window panes broken. No entry was made.

Just Snoozing

Tenants at a Whitney Road apartment alerted security to an apartment door that was standing open all day Aug. 2.

Security officers found the door open about a foot and called police, who found no criminal activity.

The tenant "had too much of the high life and was in his apartment passed out, but is fine now," the report said.
