Strongsville Police Blotter: Girls Egging House also Get Egg on Their Faces -- and Hands

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Two girls caught egging a house on Country Way June 18 were forced to return to the scene of their crime to clean up the mess.

The Country Way residents called police shortly before 4 a.m. to report their house had just been pelted with eggs -- and that they'd seen two girls in the area they suspected of egging the house a week earlier.

Officers went to one girl's house on White Bark and saw someone run inside. They questioned both girls, who initially denied the act, but eventually admitted it.

A worker on Lunn Road reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like a rocket about 9:40 a.m. June 17. The man said it sounded like the city was testing its fireworks.

People at Volunteer Park said they also heard a noise that sounded like commercial-grade fireworks coming from the area of City Hall.

But when an officer spoke to people behind the service garage, they said they did not see or hear anything.

Mailbox Mischief

Vandals hit a mailbox on Potomac Drive with a baseball bat the night of June 18, and also stuffed plants from across the street in it.

The mailbox has been tampered with several times in  recent weeks, a report said.

Underwear Workout?

Concerned passersby asked police to check on an older man walking on Main Street wearing only a T-shirt and underwear about 10 a.m. June 17.

Officers caught up with the man, who was not, in fact, exercising in his underwear, but wearing short shorts. He told police he appreciated the concern.

Oh, Deer

A deer paid an unexpected visit to an Elm Drive home about 4:30 p.m. June 18, jumping through a small window and lying in the basement.

Another deer stayed outside, looking in, a report said.

The residents were able to get the deer outside, where it ran into the woods.

More Mischief

Young vandals kept police busy during the early morning hours June 17. Someone reported that kids put something across Albion Road near Jerry Coe Lane about 1:30 a.m. Police found a line of rocks that created a speed bump and cleared the road.

An officer driving down Albion a couple hours later found a stack of logs in the roadway. He removed the logs.

A few minutes later, police were called to Waterford and Morar to find a toilet in the intersection and other debris "strewn all over the place," a report said. An officer brought a broom so they could clean the area.

They also called CEI about two light poles knocked over on Waterford between Donegal and Kylemore.
