Strongsville Police Blotter: Intruders Have a Little Party in House While Residents are Out

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A West Bend Drive resident came home Sept. 24 to find the front door unlocked an an empty bottle of wine -- and three wine glasses -- in her house.

The woman told police the front door and a slider door were both unlocked. Her son said he thinks he locked the doors when he left, but isn't sure.

The residents did not own the wine that was apparently drunk in the house.

The caller said he saw a black SUV slam on its brakes on Webster Road. A boy who looked about 11 jumped out and ran; his father chased him down and punched him in the face.

Police traced the license plate on the vehicle to a Strongsville family. But the mother, not the father, drove their black SUV that day, and she said she was never on Webster Road.

The officer checked the kids and found them to be fine. The father drives a red car, the report said.

Police said the witness must have gotten the license plate wrong.
