Strongsville Police Blotter: Nursing Home has Rooms, But Not the Kind Visitor Wants

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A nurse at called police shortly before 11 p.m. Aug 1 after she saw a man walking around the building trying to open all the doors.

Police caught up with the man as he walked near the center of town. He told officers he was looking for a motel and thought the nursing home was one.

He was given directions to local hotels.

Rowdy Teens Caught

Police were called to Trapper Trail about 3 a.m. Aug. 1 after a resident heard noise and saw some teens apparently going through garbage.

Police found the teens were actually damaging mailboxes throughout the Crystal Creek neighborhood.

All were apprehended and face charges.

Caught in the Act

A Huntington Park Drive woman called police at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to say her husband had caught some kids in his car and was chasing them.

The kids got away. Nothing was taken from the car.

Dog on the Loose

A medium-sized black dog has been running thorugh the neighborhood and tearing up trash, a Scotch Pine Way resident told police Aug. 1

Officers found the dog and chased it, but couldn't catch it.

Another officer spotted it later on Peachtree Drive, but the dog wouldn't come to him. 

Police referred the matter to the animal warden.

Merry Mischief

Kids made a mess of a yard on Brick Mill Run the night of Aug. 1, moving a trampoline to a neighbor's yard, throwing cushions on the roof and weaving the dog's leash through the patio furniture.

Nothing was damaged, a report said.

House was Too Open

Jewelry was reported stolen from a home on Sunwood Oval during an open house July 31.
