Woman Says Driver Trying to Kill Her; 2 Reports of Guns: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

 

A hysterical woman told dispatchers Jan. 20 she was in a Jeep and the driver was going to kill her.

She said the man driving was intoxicated, and they were on their way to his house in Lakewood.

Strongsville officers called Middleburg Heights for help because the couple was on I-71 and had reached the Bagley Road exit.

In the vehicle, officers found some drama, but not much else. A report said the couple was arguing about somethat that had happened the previous night.

The driver had been drinking -- the previous night, but not that morning. 

Police got the dispute temporarily settled and sent them on their way.

Guns Spotted

A woman on Brandywine Drive told police she saw a teenage boy on the playground with a rifle about 5:20 p.m. Jan. 18.

Police found three boys in the area, who said they were playing with their Air Soft guns. 

The guns had red tips on the. Their parents were advised they had frightened the woman, who acknowledged she was not close enough to see the red tips -- or whether they had pointed a gun at her.

Another Long Gun

A Royalton Road woman told police she saw two boys, one of them carrying a shotgun, walk through her back yard toward Costco about noon Jan. 20.

The boys, located near the store, said they were taking the BB gun to target practice.

Snoozing on the Road

Two drivers asked police to check on a man who fell asleep at the Pearl-Royalton roads intersection about 1:15 p.m. Jan. 18.

When one of them knocked on his window, he woke up and left, pulling into to a bank parking lot.

Police spoke with the driver, who said he had not slept for three days due to stress and working odd hours at his jobs.

Officers took the man to one of his jobs of his jobs at Elevated Fitness and spoke with his boss, who said she would rearrange his schedule so the man could get some sleep that day.

She also said someone would drive him home.
