Woman Tries to Break Into House; Solicitor Asks for Cans: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

Police nabbed a woman suspected of trying to break into a house on Woodshire Drive around noon Aug. 28.

The resident heard a knock at the door but didn't answer, then saw a woman go into the garage and try to open the door.

Officers here asked Berea police to see if the car involved in the incident was at its owner's home in that city.

Berea police apprehended suspects and turned them over to Strongsville.

Door-to-Door Suspicions

A Delmont Avenue resident called police Aug. 29 about a college-age man going to houses asking for soup cans for a contest for his school in Michigan.

When questioned, he was vague about what school he attends, a report said.

Police couldn't locate him.

Stolen Car

A 1995 Honda Civic was taken from the parking lot of the Royalton Greens Apartments between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 28.

Theft from Auto

Someone stole various items from a van in a Homestead Park driveway the night of Aug. 25.

The owner told police he wasn't sure if it was locked.
