Pearl Road to Close Nearly 3 Hours for Parade July 20

Police will detour traffic during Strongsville Homecoming kickoff; library to also close early that day

Police will close Pearl Road between Albion and Royalton roads at 6 p.m. July 20 for the Spirit of Strongsville Homecoming parade.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at Progress Drive and heads south on Pearl Road.

Pearl will reopen to traffic about 8:45 p.m., according to Sgt. Mike Grywalsky.

Detour routes are:

Southbound I-71: Avoid the Pearl Road exit and use the Royalton Road exit instead.

Southbound Pearl: Use Sprague or Whitney to get to Webster Road to reach points east of Pearl Road.

All other southbound traffic on Pearl will be diverted onto Albion Road westbound to Prospect Road. The detour will follow Prospect to Royalton, then east back to Pearl.

Northbound Pearl: Traffic will be detoured to Royalton Road, either to I-71 to the east or Prospect Road to the west.

Homecoming runs July 20-23 on the Commons. Grywalsky said pedestrian traffic will be heavy in the center of town and urges motorists to use caution. 

Library to Close Early July 20

The Strongsville branch library will close at 5:30 p.m. on July 20 to accommodate the Homecoming parade.
