Mummy Science and the Mystery Cemetery

Investigate mummification with Susannah Hamm, the library's Science & Technology Specialist.  Explore the concepts of osmosis and desiccation, which make mummification possible.  Learn how the ancient Egyptians preserved their dead.  Mummify an egg to take home!  Find out what scientists can learn about ancient people from their burial sites, and try some archaeology with the Mystery Cemetery. Grades 4 – 8.  A release form is required for all participants.  Forms may be obtained prior to or the day of the program.  Registration begins Monday, Sept. 24th.
