Video by Substitute Teacher is Making Waves in Strongsville

Caution: Graphic language

This video posted on You Tube has caused some controversy in town the last few days.

Called "Through the Eyes of a Terrorized Substitute Teacher," it says it shows a woman being yelled at and berated by Strongsville teachers as she walks past to apply for a substitute teaching job.

I wish I could spend the amount of time on this site as you think I do. It's flattering actually.
sick ofit April 08, 2013 at 01:07 AM
Look Tad this might be a big joke to you but our kids need us. Misrepresenting the facts in a small portion of a doctored tape is not helping anybody. We just want and will return to the classroom. We are not asking for anything mote than we are entitled to you people need to seriously stop.
CandidResident April 08, 2013 at 01:13 AM
After reviewing the proposals, the periods Patch posters refer to as "planning" periods are officially referred to as "preparation" periods. This will support my contention that these periods are not designed for writing lesson plans.

sick, I have seen some nonsensical comments on here, but your logic about "wiretapping" is beyond ridiculous. You have no expectation of privacy when you are standing in front of a public building screaming in someone's face. It doesn't matter if one party or two parties know. It's not a private conversation. It's not even a conversation. You are really a teacher?
e whit April 08, 2013 at 01:15 AM
so you can inflate you value added scores and think you are "excellent with distinction"
sick ofit April 08, 2013 at 01:15 AM
Johnny, how about this "hey scabs taunt and bait the teachers when you go for your background check and we will hire you. Here take this camera and record it, will take care of the rest"
Huffmaster Plant April 08, 2013 at 01:15 AM
This may be worse than your previous comment. You respect Brain's wisdom? Huh? Get out, no way.
Dave April 08, 2013 at 01:18 AM
Sick- they aren't your kids. My daughter is my daughter. Quit claiming them as yours. You may feel you are entitled to whatever you think that may be entitled to. However, since you chose to walk out on my kid, you're not entitled to her!
sick ofit April 08, 2013 at 01:24 AM
Way to change the subject johnny, don't like the truth much do you.
Dave April 08, 2013 at 01:24 AM
If you go back and read 'sick's' posts, she was obviously one of the teachers yelling at the subs as they went in to apply for the job. Most of the teachers don't agree with your behavior that day. You made the good teachers look bad.
Dave April 08, 2013 at 01:32 AM
Sick - your not worthy of a debate. You've already lost when you think that the tape was doctored and the BOE actually staged you making a fool of yourself. You better leave the heavy lifting for Frazee's Brain. At least he attempts a logical argument.
sick ofit April 08, 2013 at 01:33 AM
Don't be jealous of our relationships with our students either Johnny. We spend more time with them than you parents do. I guess I just do not understand where all this hatred comes from. I have financial needs that must be fulfilled.
sick ofit April 08, 2013 at 01:40 AM
You are right Johnny the brain is a master debater and will easily handle your hate filled posts. Goodnight my friends and belive this is about our kids not our difference in opinion.
Dave April 08, 2013 at 01:41 AM
See there you go again sick claiming you spend more with my daughter than me. I can guarantee that is not a true statement. Get over yourself. With your behavior that day you apparently don't understand how the parents really don't like you right now. Maybe things will change, but good luck with that. Just wait until you enter the classroom again , you'll see for yourself. Again, actions have consequences.
Dave April 08, 2013 at 01:45 AM
Brain - help me out here because sick doesn't make sense to me. She said that my daughter is her kid, she was yelling at the subs and says she doesn't understand why all the hatred comes from the parents. Then she walks out on a great paying job and then says she has financial needs to take care of. Help the parents out with what she is trying to say.
Q April 08, 2013 at 02:18 AM
Perhaps she was one of the teachers that was trying to get students there to " help them yell at the scabs" ..... Johnny U, I agree, wholeheartedly, OUR children are OUR children, not theirs.

There is going to be a free Common Core Information Forum this Saturday, April 13 from 4-6 pm at Christ the King Church in North Olmsted. Don't miss this opportunity to hear and discuss the implications of Ohio's adoption of Common Core Standards with the nations leading voices on CCSS. Issues addressed will include those surrounding parental and local control, quality of instruction, legalities of federal intrusion and the unfunded cost concerns. Actually, i was just thinking it looks just like yours or Mikey's. New week, time to create new characters. The real personality eventually comes out of the old ones after all.
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:19 AM
Gone for most of a week and the place goes to he##! Brain Freeze is actually posting as a person with a supposed thinking brain even?! Emmett attacking Tad? Emmett's not a student but instead supposedly a middle aged wonder?! Mr. Freeze, you seem to forget, we can see exactly how often you are on here. Did Tad play a nasty trick and shoot a ball at your head and "accidentally" forget to yell "fore?"
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:35 AM
This is hysterical. Please quit while you're ahead and stop playing lawyer. You sound like an 8th grader that has watched too many episodes of Law and Order. The good news is, your posts make the case for exactly why Pepple is needed and people can't represent themselves. What part of this are you not getting? There only needs to be one person to a conversation that agrees to the wiretapping. That could have been anybody present that day, including the person that did the wiretapping. Additionally, did you invite the news? If so, for my own amusement, please share with me your logic on how having the news channels there made it a private function. Your posts wreak of the fear you have over your behavior because you were one of the misbehaved, and you see that the BOE isn't caving and putting the "no repercussions" language in that you were relying on at the time you chose to act afool.
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:39 AM
They are not your kids. They are our kids! I find it creepy and disturbing any time I hear a teacher refer to the kids as as their kids, or talk about how much they "love" them. Gain some perspective.
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:42 AM
Spoken just like the abuser-spouse after the victim-spouse presses charges, or like the rapist that says "the victim asked for it because of the ways she was dressed/dancing/acting."
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:44 AM
Wow! Hello Rebecca DeMornay! Watch "The Hand that a Rocks the Craddle Much?"
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 03:51 AM
I just posted above about how creepy I find such comments to be from teachers...like, as in, I would make sure my child was never in a room alone with such a teacher. Sorry, but textbook pedophile warning signs....talking about how much you love my kid, how my kid is your kid, how my kid needs you, you're more of a parent to them than me, etc. Not accusing anybody of anything mind you. Just saying that, in today's day and age, these are all red flags to me. If I was the Administration of a district, I'd be curtailing the use of such talk from my teachers! Anybody hear of Jerry Sandusky? Or, a little closer to home, I do believe Strongsville has gotten in trouble once already for babygate with the female teacher?!
SvilleRes April 08, 2013 at 04:08 AM
(As an aside to the others, of course I agree with the above posts about wiretapping not even applying because it's not a private conversation. This is just better than reality tv, so my engaging is merely for personal amusement).
Jackie Moon April 08, 2013 at 04:20 AM
Then curtail your spending and live within your means.
Jackie Moon April 08, 2013 at 04:26 AM
Wrong.... Ohio is one party state only consent of one party to a conversation is required to record it dummy. I'd start worrying if I were you.....
Rich April 08, 2013 at 12:44 PM
Sick - you are delusional.... you are already getting waaaay more than what you are entitled to based on the fact that you are one of the highest compensated districts in the STATE of OHIO....so get a clue ! Start to kick in more for you own damn retirement and pay fair your share for your heath benefits and we will all stop . And please stop with kids needs us ... show some maturity and be professional. In my opinion... having that strong of an emotional attachment in your mind to your students is not appropriate.
GreedyTeachers April 08, 2013 at 10:32 PM
How can our Mayor and school board members allow these unruly teachers back in our schools and teach our children?? What type of leadership are they showing when there is a NO TOLERANCE policy in place? If the mayor and school board allows this to happens, SHAME ON THEM!!!
zrt April 12, 2013 at 06:35 PM
Man, it sure sucks when you realize that equally capable people are willing to do your job for less, and the only thing you can resort to is attempting to publicly shame them for their willingness to do so. Market valued cost of labor. It's about time this applied to the teaching profession.
