Strongsville Student on Team Competing for Soccer Title

U15 team from Internationals Soccer Club heading to South Carolina for national championships

The U15 team of high school girls from the Internationals Soccer Club is heading to Rock Hill, SC to compete for the national US Youth Soccer title.

The team is made up of girls from several northeast Ohio high schools --  including Sarah Puntel of -- and is coached by Zdravko Popovic, Keri Sarver and Alan Ceepo.

This past year, the team has won the Pacesetter Showcase as well as the KSA Adidas Turf Classic. They won the State Cup championship in order to qualify for Midwest Regional competition in Saginaw, MI, where they competed against 16 teams from 12 states. They will be competing against six teams in Rock Hill for the US Youth Soccer national championship on July 25-29.
