Strongsville Volleyball Player Kelsey Bittinger Headed to Kent State University

The 6-0 outside hitter will get a full ride to Kent State University.

She had family members graduate from both the University of Akron and Kent State University, but Kelsey Bittinger sided with her father's alma mater and plans to be a Golden Flash.

The Plain Dealer reports that Bittinger, a junior at Strongsville High School, gave an oral committment to KSU.

"My family was really cool, in fact they were more quiet about it than I thought they'd be and left the decision to me,'' said Bittinger, a 6-0 outside hitter who averaged 4.2 kills and 4.5 digs per set, and had a .297 kill efficiency and 89.7 serve percentage last year for the Mustangs, in the Plain Dealer story.  "I also visited Bowling Green and Penn, and each of the schools had something different that was appealing.''

Kent State University offered Bittinger a full scholarship to attend the school. Bittinger plans to major in science or math.
